They Don't Want You

If you have been following the blog for a while you might have heard about the names MyKill & Walker and checked out some of their cool music. Now Walker, who's full name is Keith Walker, has started a new project called Snake Heart Society. His first release using this new name is the track "They Don't Want You", which is a cool retro synth powered electro track. His influences (Depeche Mode, Maceo Plex, Pleasurekraft, etc), also hint towards the profile of this tune.

Snake Heart Society also recently dropped a second track called "The Dream", which has a more modern deep house club sound, but still with hints of music from the 80's which is really cool. Both tracks will be part of an 8-track EP called The Night. So stay tuned for that :) In the mean time feel free to check out the two tracks below. You can even pick up a free download of "They Don't Want You" via Soundcloud.

Up next is a remix by Steve James for Conrad Sewell's "Remind Me". Steve released this for his 18th birthday (yes, that's right). The young producer has already achieved a lot considering his age, writing music for Justin Bieber and charting the Hype Machine numerous times with his own music. His latest remix is just a manifestation of his great taste and skill. Steve's remix hits most music streaming services and outlets today.

Finally, I want to wrap up with something special from two legendary producers. While I assume this is still a work in progress given the titles "V.3" addition, this new track called "Beneath With Me" by Kaskade & Deadmau5 is very different from their first and most famous collab "I Remember" from 2008. I've been digging a bit around Twitter and it seems like the track was released by mistake (or it's a clever marketing scheme). Either way here it is...in some form or another.

With some haunting vocals by Skylar Grey, this track has a dark sounding instrumental, with a lot of iconic industrial electro sounds that Deadmau5 in particular is known for. Since the verses flow without a beat, the impact is quite grande when the drop arrives. It's a cool track and it's not at all what I would have expected when keeping "I Remember" in mind. My respect to Kaskade & Deadmau5 for the surprise!
