Young

Let's start out with a new remix from Win & Woo. The Chicago based producer and DJ duo have taken on Cosmos & Creature's "Young" and turned it into a clubbier and more energetic version, while keeping some of the best elements from the original. Back when I was young the music didn't sound like this. It was pretty much dominated by Max Martin and a few lucky breaks. Thank god for diversity :D

Sentimental story aside, Win and Woo's remix is out now and available for streaming right here below or via Spotify if that's your poison. Give it a spin below and enjoy!

For the producers reading the blog it's not a surprise that Boombox Cartel & QUIX are running a remix competition over on Splice. That has also meant that I've been bombarded with remix submissions for this track. One that stood out to me though is this one remixed by Datsun & Shihkunin. Their version takes the track into a melodic future and trap inspired direction which I think works insanely well. The melody is on point and the track has literally created a ghosting effect on my brain. It's catchy, it sounds dope and the remix is available as a free download. What more do you want? :)

Pacify

Today's first track comes from LA based producer Kauf and it's called "Pacify". The track is part of his forthcoming debut EP going by the name "Regrowth", which is set for release early 2017. "Pacify" will be the opening track on that EP and what an opening it is. With a super cool atmospheric vibe and a haunting vocal, this track is giving me goosebumps (but in the best possible way). I particularly love the wobbly lead synth in the verses and how it adds texture and gives the track a fresh and dynamic sound. "Pacify" is out now as a single release and you can pick up a copy via Bandcamp (see link below).

Up next is a remix by Steve James. For a while the US producer has kept quiet with new releases, but how can you blame him when he's out busy touring. Actually I even missed his remix for Matthew Koma's "Kisses Back", which you can listen to here in case you haven't heard it yet:

Rather I would like to focus a bit on his latest release, a remix he did together with Joe Mason of his own track "In My Head". The vocal chop remains, but the vibe has changed and turned the track into a subtle electro/indie piece which suits the original vocal incredibly well. I can't decide with version I like the best. Both are amazing, but this new remix certainly feels like a breath of fresh air, giving "In My Head" some much deserved attention again. Give it a spin and grab a free download via the link below:

Novo Vida

Ah, it feels good to be back with a stable internet connection. Maybe you noticed that there weren't any new posts since Thursday...now you know why :)

Let's start out with something super exciting from U.S. based Allen French. He has recently released an EP called Novo Mundo, featuring a total of 3 tracks. The style and genre is quite different from what you will usually find on MYWLT, however there's something that caught my attention on the title track "Novo Vida". Maybe you can guess what it is? Of course it's the bassline :D Bassline aside though, the track combines some really interesting elements from Bossa Nova and combines it with electronic music in a fantastically subtle, but absolutely on point way.

Give "Novo Vida" a spin and check out the remaining EP via the link below. Enjoy!

Up next is a soulful remix of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" by Andy Caldwell. The LA based producer has turned this track into a deep house-ish groovy lounge track, with a crisp beat and fresh vibe. Messing with classics is difficult, but Andy Caldwell has nailed this one in my opinion and brought "What's Going On" back into the 21st century and back into the clubs. Hit play below and enjoy!

Right Time

The dude in the picture above is responsible for today's first track called "Right Away". Maybe you recognise him, but if you don't this is the one and only Montreal based producer going by the name of Robotaki. Some of his most well known work includes the remix he did for Daft Punk's "Derezzed", which is absolutely legendary. Now Robotaki is back with this new single and it's as awesome as you would expect. I also really like the vocalist he has found for this track, giving the track a nice balance overall. The slightly bouncy beat and the dreamy melody makes you forget place and time for a while, when listening to this, but you'll wake up again from your sweet dream when the energetic, yet melodic chorus hits. Give "Right Away" a spin and check out the link below for download and alternative streaming options.

Up next is a track you might already know called "Plans" by Elephante feat. Brandyn Burnette, but this is the acoustic version. Yep, no pounding bass, not big drop, no swoosh and booms and crashes...just focus on the vocal and classic instruments like piano and guitar. Respect to Elephante and Brandyn Burnette for doing this and showing how electronic music can move beyond the genre and without a computer. Give it a good listen below and enjoy!

Your Word

Today's first tune comes from U.S. based producer Inverness and it's called "Your Word". This is a grande future track, with some cool sounds and a fantastic "out-of-this-world" vibe. The sounds and melody on this track, give "Your Word" a very dreamy vibe overall. Some parts hint a little at early video games, while other parts sound very crisp, thanks to the inclusion of some nice organic sounds. The drop adds some nice energy, which nicely balances out the verses and makes for a well-rounded track overall. "Your word" is out now via Spirited and you can pick up a free download via the link below.

If you're rather in the mood for something with a super catchy bassline, then fear not. Up next is a track called "No Good For Me" by Sydney based  producer Ben Morris and it's an absolute instant earworm. The energy is cracking and the vibe is a genius mix of house and funk. The bass line is what got me super excited, but the vocal and beat also makes sure that this track is a timeless classic. I can't in my wildess fantasy think of a setting where this track wouldn't make a crowd go wild.

Ben Morris' single is out now via Tinted Records and you can get your own personal copy or alternative stream via the link below. Enjoy!

Lights

The desire to see light is a powerful theme and that's what San Holo's brand new single is about. "Light" has a contagious and harmonic, but also energetic sound. The balance between the atmospheric vibe on this track and the more upbeat parts are perfectly balanced and makes for a super contagious track. The melody on the drop feels melancholic to my ears, but it fits the theme of the song very well, even though a more powerful drop could also have been very cool on a track like this. Eitherway, it's still a strikingly good listen and it's fresh out of the oven and available as a free download. What more do you want? ;-)

Up next is a remix by the one and only Sean Turk! The NYC based producer has created a feel good version of TV Noise feat. Jessame's "Think" and adds some funky and crispy sounding guitar strums, along with a more trap inspired drop. The combo works super well and gives the track a fresh new sound, while maintaining parts of the original vibe at the same time. The good Sean Turk is also giving his remix away for free, so make sure to grab a copy via the link below. Enjoy!

Wildfire

It's getting cold and dark in my part of the world, but in other parts it's a nice hot summer. Since I can't just easily go to a place like that, I will instead boost my moral with a bit of a summery remix, coming from Koni. This time the producer has taken on LKA's "Wildfire" and given it his signature vibe to great a mood that makes you want to run to the beach and crash into the waves. Give his remix a spin and check out the link below for alternative streaming options:

Up next is a sweet and classy sounding remix by Vasta for Billie Eilish's "Six Feet Under". Vasta's simple, yet effective intro gives the vocal a lot of breathing space, creating an atmospheric vibe to die for. The slightly haunting feel that comes from the verses is then replaced by a cool 80's sounding electro/rock chorus/drop part, which is both catchy and matches the overall vibe of the track. The track lands a fine balance between a modern deep house track and something retro, that for me just works incredibly well, making this one of the best remixes I've heard from Vasta so far.

Ginger

Let's start out this Sunday with something a bit alternative. Here's Xander with a dope track called "Ginger". The sounds used on this future style track are super cool and there's so much diversity, it never gets boring to listen replay this. Fortunately the track also has some more toned down parts, which allows your ears to breathe, giving "Ginger" a nice balance overall. The track is available as a free download, so make sure to pick up a copy via the link below.

Up next is a cool remix by Nebbra for Best Night Ever's "Fire Me Up". I'm a big fan of the original track, so that makes it a risky remix for me. Luckily Nebbra gets away with it with flying colours and creates a vibe that is just as catchy or maybe even more so. In The Name Of Love

The artwork above should give you a good indication of what you're about to experience....pure remixing bliss! Amsterdam based duo The Him has gotten their hands on Martin Garrix & Bebe Rexha's super hit and turned it into a dope melodic piano house style club track. I also particularly like the sound used around of the second verse, which reminds be a bit of a barrel organ. A fun, maybe unintentional, detail that just works amazingly well and gives the track a refreshingly new sound. Of course this remix packs plenty of feel good house vibes too, so just dive right in and hit the play button below:

If you like "In The Name Of Love", you should definitely also check out the version by Danish producer Andreas Holdø, who's maybe better known as Snavs (Snavs = dirt in Danish). With a more trap inspired approach, Snavs' remix speeds up the vocal and gets a little dirty with it. To my surprise this actually works quite well and the drop also feels perfectly on point and hits the mark with a catchy bass tap.

Maybe you prefer one remix over the other, or maybe you are like me and think they are both super dope. Either way, you can find both of them in the official "In The Name of Love" remix package (see link below). Enjoy!

Make You Mine

Knock, knock...who's there?....Friday!....Friday, who?....HAPPY FRIDAY!
Bad jokes aside, here are some amazing new tunes to go head diving into the weekend!

The first track comes from NVOY and is called "Make You Mine". The pad sounds on this track, gives it a light atmospheric touch, while the snappy beat adds appropriate amounts of energy. It's not a banger track, but a classy, well sounding piece of house music that is sure to get you in a good weekend mood. Fire up this feel good house jam by hitting that play button below:

Let's stick with some more classy sounding house music. Here's a brand new remix by Munich based Fabich and Ferdinand Weber. The two have taken on Dom Dolla's track "You", which already is quite a dope track. They've managed to pull it off though, making the track sound extra awesome by giving "You" a crispy and groovy beat, some lush synth and a formidable contagious energy that will make even the most depressed club goer hit the dance floor. Give it a spin below or catch the stream on Spotify (see link). Enjoy!

Drifting Away

Today's first track comes from Felix Cartal, who has released a brand new single called "Drifting Away" feat. Ofelia K. Again the producer shows off his amazing talent by producing a track that goes beyond genres, combining emotional, melodical and clubby elements in a very easily digestible package. On a personal level though, this remains a new path for the producer, who has been pushing himself to produce a different type of dance music. Doing this as an established artist is risky, but at this stage there's no doubt that he has pulled it off. It's also the second time Felix Cartal works with Ofelia K on a track, after "Fakin It" together with Kaskade and that's just a bonus in my opinion. Check out "Drifting Away" and check out the link below for alternative streams and download.

Up next is a new single by US based producer Kill Paris called "Junkie" feat. Nevve and Monstre. The track describes the energy of falling in and out of love, according to the artists own Soundcloud comments. In that sense the single feels very relatable and makes for a deeply emotional track. The instrumental, which combines elements from trap, indie and pop, sounds perfectly melancholically for theme and the subtle vocal chop adds a bit of familiarity and catchiness in the process. Sunny

Who doesn't like a dope bassline? Well..I do!!!...and when listening to this new track by Papa Ya called "Sunny" it's impossible not to groove along. The playful, catchy melody and sound has proper earworm appeal and makes for a happy, yet club worthy tune thanks to a saw like synth in key parts. That being said, the track is more of a party/feel good track, than it's a classic house club tune. You'll get what I mean when you hit the play button and trust me, you won't be disappointed. If this doesn't put you in a good mood, I don't know what will! Give "Sunny" a spin and don't forget to pick up that no-brainer free download via the link below:

Up next is the latest and greatest by The Chainsmokers. Their newest single "Setting Fires" has been out for some time now, but heck I can't fight all fronts unfortunately and always cover the tracks when they are fresh out of the oven. That doesn't hold me back from saying out loud how much I love this track. In fact it might be my favourite track by the duo to date, even though it might not beat Roses and Closer on popular vote. Alex and Drew also decided it was time to wrap up some of their latest singles into an EP called Collage.

Having said before...and again...that they see their work as stages in their lives, rather than material for a coherent album, they stick with the EP and single release setup. To be honest I would personally love to see (I mean hear) an album from The Chainsmokers, but who knows, maybe some day we will. Until then, check out Collage EP below.

Hollyworld

Today's one and only track comes from LA based Garrett Lodge and it's called "Hollyworld" feat. Malcom Anthony. This track is pumped on dope energy. The tag #deephouse on Soundcloud is quite misleading if you ask me, as I would rather classify this as a UK house track. The instrumental in particular carries this characteristic, thanks to that lead synth. The vocal is also a big part of this track. While the rhymes are simple and the message...well yeah, I maybe would't encourage that kind of behaviour, but heck, the vibe is catchy as ever. Don't know what I am talking about? Give it a listen below and enjoy :)

Read My Lips

Cali based duo Instant Karma takes on King Deco's "Read My Lips" and turn it into a happy sounding, club ready version. The catchy instrumental provides a great contrast to the sweet vocal from the Jordanian singer/songwriter. The energy also feels on point and doesn't become overpowering or unbalanced, complimenting the original vibe, while at the same time making it extra earworm worthy. Up next is a track by the fabulous Eau Claire called "All The Wonder", here in the Loframes Remix. The French duo has managed to make an already dope track extra dope, thanks to a super catchy and well sounding bass line that just goes hand in hand with the deeper sounding vocal sample and a snappy house beat (which includes cowbell ;-D). The original mix comes off Eau Claire's debut EP, which I have brutally neglected due to my hiatus period. Fortunately I'll pick that up later, alongside new stuff that she is working on, coming soon. Stay tuned :)

Never Coming Down

Let's welcome today's post with a fresh to death new remix by Virtu for Midoca's "Never Coming Down". Keeping it real nice and calm during the verses, Virtu goes grande and spacious with an amazing and powerful sounding lead synth and melody for the drop. Adding such a hefty portion of energy can be risky, but Virtu doesn't just pull it off, he sets this track on fire. Speaking of fire, fire up the stereo, turn up the volume and brace yourself this dope, firestarting sounding remix.

Virtu has more exciting stuff coming before the year ends. Look out for an exciting remix for Ember Island and a single with Kill Paris.

Up next is a brand new remix by the one and only Taylor Wise. This time he's taken on L.A. based Grouplove's track "Welcome To Your Life" and turned it into indie/club bliss. If you're fan of The Chainsmokers or Young Bombs, then this might be just up your alley.

I love how Taylor Wise has kept elements from the original track, managing a nice balance between the easy going verses and a super dope chorus. The melody that he has added is crazy catchy and the sounds are so on point for this track, it all adds up and makes this one of the best Taylor Wise remixes to date! My Hands

Today's first tune comes from Canada based producer Miles Away and it's called "All Of This". It's a lovely calming track, with some refined trap elements and a simple, repetitive vocal sample that just works. Structure wise the track isn't very complex, but that is also what I like about it. It proves that sometimes less is more and the opposite is something I encounter way too often. Maybe a small lesson is hidden in that message for the producers out there reading this, but hey...just my two cents. Either way, you can pick up Miles Away's sweet single as a free download, just hit the link below:

Let's crank up the stereo to this tune from AYER called "My Hands", here in the Truth & Lies remix. HLYWD

Today's first track comes from a great band going by the name of The Brocks. I loved their previous single "Going Nowhere" and their new single, "HLYWD" is just as good in my opinion. The vibe is quite different though. While it captures their signature sound, it's not quite as energetic, but more laid back and emotional. I'm also a big fan of the telling lyrics and grand sounding instrumental, which has a lots of room to show off that dope vocal. "HLYWD" is out now via Kaskade's own imprint called Arkade. With the U.S. Presidential election going on at this very moment, I thought this would be an appropriate track to bring along in the post. This sweet track is called "Land Of The Free" by The Russ Liquid Test feat. Mr. Lif and it perfectly describes...lots of things going on in the U.S. Most of the things aren't really what you'd call positive, but heck it's some damn clever rhyming. If you're an American listening to this single, don't feel depressed...go out an vote!

So Much Love

Today's first track comes from Miami based Slugger's called "So Much Love". This deep house tune has the most amazing bass and hypnotic vibe. It's a track that packs a punch and has a very contagious dark/mysterious sound profile. If you're a fan of Amtrac, this might be just up your alley, as "So Much Love" has a bit of that influence too. This track is part of Slugger's Anthem EP, which is out now via Fool's Gold and you can stream it or pick it up via the link below. Enjoy!

Up next is a track by Stockholm based producer Dear David called "Fever". It's a classic house anthem, just like you know and love them. With a bit of an oldschool bass and beat situation, this track sounds incredibly classic and true to the genre. The track is a solid no-bullshit type track and it absolutely delivers with it's dope sounds and catchy vibe. Groove along and get a yourself a "Fever" (pun intended). Mr. Brightside

LA based Two Friends are back with a brand new remix, this time a clubby, yet melodic and emotional sounding version of The Killers' "Mr. Brightside". Some of you might remember when the duo released a remix of Blink 182's "I Miss You" just about a year ago and this goes a little in the same direction. With this new release they show off their ability to be diverse and come up with new ideas. Their love for rock classics also comes in helpful, but it still takes skill and hard work to transform it into something they can proudly call their own. I think they've pulled it off! Hitchhike

And most colourful scarf award goes to....KOLAJ...ok, joke aside...instead I'd like to show you their latest single called "Hitchhike". If you are familiar with previous KOLAJ releases, you will notice how this new song captured their signature sound perfectly. Up next is a soulful electro remix by JNTHN STEIN for Joe Hertz's track "Swimming". While the original on its own sounds absolutely amazing, this remix has a really nice touch too. Some lush pad sounds for instance makes the track open up and gives it a more atmospheric vibe. The electric guitar strokes also provides the track with a hint more energy than the original and accentuates the instrumental overall. Earworm? Oh...absolutely!

Wonderful

Remember the good old days of French Express? Now you can relive a little of that vibe with Chris Malichak's new single called "Wonderful". Listening to this track, instantly makes me think of "So Good To Me", which might be Chris' biggest hit to date and thus "Wonderful" surely packs that signature sound I have come to love. That being said, a lush, easy going, mellow and soul-filled electronica vibe is what you get on this new single and it just works...it's as simple as that! Hit that play button below and enjoy!

Awake, Asleep

Today's first track comes from Speaker of the House and REMMI and it's called "Awake, Asleep". With some clever lyrics, a beautiful vocal and a bang on the money instrumental, this track doesn't take a long time to get stuck in your head. The track has been out for only a months time, but it has also already generated a solid 250k plays. So someone must have been smashing that replay button...oh wait...maybe that is partly my fault ;-) "Awake, Asleep" is out now and you can pick up a copy or stream via your favourite platform via the link below:

Up next is Kap Slap who returns with a new remix for Nathan Sykes feat. G-Eazy's "Give It Up". The element of surprise is what caught my attention with this track. Kap Slap didn't just deliver an exciting and refreshing remix, he also produced a sound and a vibe that is remarkably different from what he is known for. The bold move pays off and results in a version of "Give It Up" that is both earworm worthy and intriguing at the same time. Kap Slap's remix is out now and available for streaming via Spotify. Waves

Guildford based producer Rysk is the gentleman behind today's first track, which is called "Waves". It's a pure instrumental track, with an amazing sound and a fresh chillout vibe. As the name suggests, the track is quite wavey and that's actually also what I like the most about this track track. While the track might sound simple, it also proves the point that less is sometimes more. I think that goes in particular for this track.

You can pick up "Waves" as a free download or stream via Apple Music or Spotify. Enjoy!
