Unknown (To You)

London based Jacob Banks is back with a new single called "Unknown (To You)". I wouldn't be surprised if he soon becomes one of the greatest vocalists of his generation. His powerful, characteristic vocal dominates the sound scape on this track, allowing the instrumental to be lean, classic and beautiful. This is a piece of music that you'll have to enjoy in peace...so kick back...listen carefully and enjoy something real special. Hit the play button below or stream via Spotify.

Be Somebody

L.A. based singer, songwriter and producer CVBZ is back with a new single which surely is going to get stuck on your mind. "Be Somebody" combines an earwormy melody, with a characteristic vocal performance, telling the story of a love that can't exist due to the protagonist being perceived as a nobody. Regardless of this being applicable to CVBZ directly or not, what's more important and impressive is that he's been able to create some amazing tracks within the last year, producing a unique and own sound that makes me excited for what is to come in the future.

"Be Somebody" is out now and available via Spotify and Itunes (see links below). Enjoy!

Best Friend

I think I might be the last person in the blogosphere to post this, but what the heck! SOFI TUKKER's new single "Best Friend" marks a new pinnacle in the duo's musical career. Being featured in both Apple's latest commercial for the Iphone X and the new forthcoming FIFA 18 video game, you can't really ask for anything more... from a commercial point of view that is. Despite this massive exposure, Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern still do their own and that is what makes them and this new release so awesome. The fact that Nervo, The Knocks & Alisa Ueno also had their say in the making of this track doesn't really matter too much to me on this occasion...at the core it's SOFI TUKKER at its absolute finest! Hit up "Best Friend" right here or click the link below for your favourite online music joint.

We Can't Give Up

DJ and producer EDX has released a new single called "We Can't Give Up" feat. Tom Gregory. Fans of the Swiss legend will recognise his characteristic house sound, which has been around for a while now, but never fails to impress. Packing in a sweet melody, lots of emotion and a hint magic electronic wizardry, "We Can't Give You Up" ticks all the right boxes. With summer coming to an end, this uplifting tune is the perfect soundtrack to enjoy those last days of sunshine before darkness is upon us. Paper Mache

Time for something fresh and different compared to what I usually post for this Friday! Today's track comes from Iris Lune, a quartet based out of Brooklyn, NY. Their new single "Paper Mache" is a beautiful mix of indie/electronica with a hint of folk music. Their sound profile manages to incorporate originality with some serious sparkle and emotionality in a way I haven't heard before. The use of both electronic and acoustic sounding instruments are perfectly balanced, making "Paper Mache" a fantastic first discovery for those of you who are new to Iris Lune. The single will be part of the bands forthcoming EP "Lost In Chatter", set to release in November. Stay tuned!

Soak

Luces aka Amtrac and Plastic Plates return with some -out of this world- new music. The track presented here today is called "Soak" and it's the kind of deep electronica that only Amtrac and Plastic Plates know how to make. The track is melodic, bass driven and amazingly hypnotic, allowing the listener to forget everything throughout the single's 6:33 minutes. "Soak" is part of Luces second EP release, which is set to officially release on September 22nd on Openers Records. Until then, feel free to "soak" up some proper deep vibes by pressing that play button right here or check out the link below:

Relax (GA3TAN Remix)

Haiti based producer GA3TAN has dropped an official remix for JPerry's single "Relax" feat. Solara bringing you Caribbean dance vibes. The melody is an instant earworm and blends in very well with the vibe of the original mix. GA3TAN's remix also benefits from the French/English vocal/lyric language combo, which makes "Relax" a really interesting listen. Although I have no idea what JPerry sings, the vibe radiates holiday and summer feels. Something I am not saying "no" to now that autumn and winter is knocking on the door. Give the remix a spin below and enjoy!

I Still See Your Face

San Holo surprisingly drops a new single called "I Still See Your Face" and it delivers. The track flourishes thanks to San Holo's unique sound design and the haunting vocals (performed by the man himself). While still being a type of dance track, the overall vibe has a pronounced chill out style that makes this perfect for easy listening. There's a music video which perfectly captures that too...it's simple, but somehow very sophisticated. Check out what I am talking about below. Enjoy!

Your Song (Disco Fries Remix)

Disco Fries are back and this time they've transformed Rita Ora's "Your Song", turning it into the ultimate dance/pop track. I really like the added upbeat vibe and piano chords, but what gets me too groove along the most is that excellent funky french house bass line that hits during the chorus. Rita Ora never sounded better on a dance track and Disco Fries yet again fully live up to their name. "Your Song" is out now and available as a free download (see link below). Enjoy!

There For You (LIONE Remix)

LA based producer LIONE has created a dope version of Martin Garrix & Troye Sivan's "There For You". The added focus on the melody on this track is just what it needed to make it sound perfect. While I do appreciate Martin Garrix's clean sound on the original, the melody and added sparkle by LIONE makes "There For You" just that much better in my opinion. This remix will be the ideal soundtrack for your late night drives looking at neon lights...festivals...or just easy listening. Vibes like these just work in any situation! Joyride

Bellingham based Fluencie has teamed up with Natalia Eleni for this beautiful new release called "Joyride". Listening to this track is also quite literally a joyride, thanks to some cool muted guitar sounds, a catchy melody and an absolutely fantastic vocal performance. The change in dynamics between chorus and verses also makes the track feel very alive, but it doesn't shake off the amazing late night vibe that makes the track stand out overall. This also makes the "Joyride" incredibly versatile and great for both easy listening or in a club setting. Fluencie & Natalia Eleni have made a music video for collab which you can check out too. Sun Goes Down

Ever questioned the magic of the internet? This new track called "Sun Goes Down" is a great example of a worldwide collab, split across Germany, Korea and the U.S. The producers Koni & Jeongwoo have joined forces for this one, creating a late summer friendly track that will put a smile on your face. The vocal performed by Lilianna Wilde is a big part of this too, adding a mellow layer of goodness and giving the track its easy listening appeal. To help visualise the vibe, there's a beautiful music video you can check out too, incl. an extra video showing some of the production steps.

Driveway

Rob Ellmore & Colin Dieden (lead singer in The Mowgli's) have teamed up for a new project they call Culpriit. Their first single is already out and it's serious business. "Driveway" is a future bass meets indie/pop in the most catchy way possible. The track starts out being mostly bass driven, but as the track progresses it opens up. Both the instrumental and the vocals are written in a way that they want you to nod along to the rhythm or even sing along to the lyrics. It's somehow a simple melody, but it's very effective and it sounds as crisp as a chip. Give "Driveway" a spin right here below and enjoy!

Tell Me

Almost 3 years after the release of the first Redux EP, Kaskade returns for round number two in full force! For Redux 002 he fires all cylinders, dropping 7 new tracks. But what is Redux, I hear you ask? Redux is Kaskade's homage to his early DJ career, spinning records in smaller clubs, without distractions and before the existence of big EDM festivals. This ideology is reflected in his Redux style music, which tends to be more towards the deep house spectrum of the electronic music genre. A track from the EP which perfectly embodies that is "Tell Me" feat. his old band mates from Late Night Alumni (Becky Jean Williams and John Hancock). You should definitely check out the full EP though, which is out now via all major platforms. Sticking true to his roots, Kaskade is also dropping Redux 002 on vinyl (for the purists). Survive

Saint Wknd and Max have made a track together called "Survive" and yup...it's pretty dope! While Max's vocal performance is a great match considering the overall vibe of the track, it's the instrumental which has me on the edge of my seat. The sounds used for this track are exquisite and refreshingly different, even by Saint Wknd's own standard. I love the chord progression and the drawn out pad sounds which fill the instrumental with a unique atmosphere and energy.

Homebound

I have already mentioned the awesome new EP by DROELOE called "A Moment In Time", but having had a few more listens to the entire work, I think I've found my favourite, "Homebound". I can't quite describe what it is, but I do think it has something to do with the sound design in combination with the amazing vocal performance. DROELOE's ability to set themselves apart from the stereotypical electronic music sound jungle is what makes me so excited about their music and "Homebound" just shows that particularly well in my opinion.

Hot Water (Two Friends Remix)

LA's finest are back with a new remix for Audien & 3LAU's "Hot Water". To say the water is hot is an understatement...it's on fire! Two Friends have focussed on adding melodic elements to the track, boiling things down to a pop/house/future bass fusion, which steadily finds its way into your brain, transforming itself into an earworm. Personally I prefer this version over the original, which I find somewhat dark and heavy. This remix, with its brigher sound and lighter feel, makes for a perfect late summer track which you can jam out to at a party or just while easy listening.

XL & Master Control (Pat Lok Remix)

Although having released an entire album this year already, Pat Lok is not one to rest on his laurels. Now he is back with two new remixes! The first one is a remix for Bro Safari, Dillion Francis & Salvatore Ganacci's track "XL", which has received a complete 180 flip. Gone is the loud festival moombahton vibe, exchanged for Pat Lok's characteristic feel-good nu-disco'esque style sound. If you know the original version of "XL", then you're in for a surprise for sure!

The other remix Pat Lok has been crafting, is for Jnthn Stein's "Master Control" feat. BXRBER. Again, the feel good vibes are unstoppable. I love the retro disco vibe on this remix and the creative work on the vocal. To my ears it almost sounds like the vocal was covered by someone else, but more likely it's just Pat Lok working some ultra clever pitch work, totally transforming BXRBER's vocal. BXRBER commented on Pat Lok's remix "Why You So Dope"?...I'm also asking myself that question! Pat Lok...you're a genius...end of story!

DK fam! You here?! Danish duo Blondage have had their track "Stoned" remixed by OTR and it's now extra spiced up in the best possible way. The vibe is still incredibly mellow and chilled out, but the instrumental now feels more upbeat and melodic, which suits the track very well. Combined with the stunning vocal performance by Pernille Smith-Sivertsen, "Stoned" just got a little bit more alive and dynamic, which is a welcome addition.

Come As You Are

First time I came across Paris & Simo was in 2011 when they released their remix for Tiesto's "Work Hard, Play Hard". A lot has happened since then and now they are back with a brand new single release called "Come As You Are" feat. Karen Harding on vocal. The track is an easy listening club track, with sing-a-long worthy lyrics and a melody that bites itself into your brain with catchiness. It's a track that perfectly captures their existing sound profile and catalogue, so fans of their music should find this one easy to party to. Eclipse

Emmit Fenn is on a roll and has recently released a brand new instrumental EP called "Eclipse". Featuring a total of 4 new tracks, including the one below called "Drive", Emmit shows off his diverse production skills. The overall vibe on this EP is remarkably different from his Prologue EP, which covered a wider variety of genres. "Eclipse" stands out with its deeper and darker sound design and at times cinematic style, which feels fresh, but makes me wonder where Emmit Fenn goes from here musically. I like the boldness of not being forced to listen to one style of music from one specific artist, so in my book that is just a bonus point. Give his track "Drive" a spin right here, but make sure to listen to the full EP via the link below.

Chemicals

L.A. based duo Oliver have have just released their new album called "Full Circle" and to keep it short and simple, it's one of the best electronic music releases to come out of 2017 so far. Featuring a total of 15 tracks, they're definitely not selling themselves short for their debut album. A single I would like to point out is called "Chemicals". It's a track that perfectly encapsulates the vibe of the album and gives you a sense of their musicality and style. Their characteristic 80's sound design and retro synth work is a key driver here and it's what makes this album so special. While "Chemicals" features a stunning collab with MNDR, the album also enjoys features of other great artists such as Elohim, Sam Sparro, De La Soul, Yelle, Scott Mellis and Chromeo.

So If you're a person who can't get enough of funky basslines and retro dance grooves, then this is definitely for you. Feel free to stream "Chemicals" right here and add "Full Circle" to your weekend party playlist via the link below. Enjoy!

Spread The Love (Jetique Remix)

Munich based producer Jetique is literally spreading the love with his remix for Goldroom's hit. With the original vocal being incredibly house friendly, it's perhaps not surprising that this is exactly what Jetique has been going for with this version. His characteristic house music sounds fit perfectly on this track and if you didn't know any better, "Spread Love" could very well have sounded like this originally. With the existing positive message hidden in the lyrics of this tune, there's no doubt that the extra firey house vibes will make you a happy person after listening to this remix. This is where Codeko adds a boatload of energy to the track, making it an ideal piece for bigger stages and gigs. Less Lonely (Young Bombs Remix)

Canadian duo Young Bombs have dropped a new remix for Frank Walker's "Less Lonely". This time the vibe gets a little heavier and emotional, but that is a perfect match considering the theme of "Less Lonely". Simultaneously, Young Bombs show off a different side of their musical identity, giving their fans something fresh to digest. On a more personal note, this remix has already become one of my favourite Young Bombs' releases to date. Full Moon

Barkley returns with a brand new single called "Full Moon". Although not a lot is known about the producer and DJ, it's fair to say he knows how to lay down a proper bass line. With a deep and mysterious sounding vibe, the track takes you on sonic journey, leaving you in a state of trance (not meant as an Armin van Buuren reference). Rewind

Calling it one of the favourite songs he has ever made, Louis Futon returns with a new single called "Rewind" feat. Ashe and Armani White. While going through some personal turmoil, he has found the time to come up with sweet sounding pop/hip hop/indie jam, filled to the brim with feel good vibes. Compared to some of his earlier work, this track definitely has more of a commercial appeal, but that isn't meant as a negative remark, but more as a sign that Louis Futon might have hit a chord that could launch the stage 2 rocket of his musical career. As a producer Louis Futon has proven to be an extremely talented artist, always coming up with something fresh and original...so now that he has moved out to the entertainment capital L.A., I wouldn't be surprised if we will see many more interesting releases or collabs in the very near future.

The Future (Wingtip Remix)

San Holo's single "The Future" feat. James Vincent McMorrow has received a bombastic remix pack, filled with some amazing alternative versions of this great hit. One that stood out to me in particular is this remix by NYC based Wingtip, who has spooled up the energy level, but maintained the tracks emotional touch. The playful adlib/vocal chop style he has used quite heavily adds a new dynamic and accentuates the hard hitting drop, which fits perfectly with the original vibe of the track.

The remix pack for "The Future" also features remixes by Taska Black, Autolaser, Jupe, Anomolie, Marcioz, Fytch, Vincent, Snavs, Franky Rizardo, Feint, Andrew Luce and GOSLO...so there's definitely something for everyone.

Everybody Else

New single from Emmit Fenn called "Everybody Else" fits the bill for me today. With it's easy going flow, deep electronica sounds and futuristic vocal, the track manages to peak the listeners interest from second one. The arp-like pluck adds a sweet late night vibe, making this an obvious soundtrack for a neon light cruising session down an empty boulevard at 4am (you know what I mean). Once the sax joins, a jazzy component accentuates the before mentioned feel and suddenly the track slowly glides out. So if you're in the mood for some music to chill-out to, then this is for you!

Originally meant to be part of his Prologue EP, Emmit Fenn fortunately decided to drop this sweet track anyway! Thanks for that :)

What I Like

Let's start out this new week with a proper earworm. Gia's new single "What I Like" fits that bill, with a beautiful indie/pop vibe, catchy melody and sing-a-long worthy lyrics. I've always loved Gia's vocal as I think it stands out and has its very own sound and you really get a feel for her voice on this particular release. The instrumental is driven by a delightful acoustic guitar, which adds a full sound, but doesn't overpower. This leaves plenty of room for that vocal to shine and that's all this track needs to make me happy.

Too Young (Opvs & G.KNOW Remix)

NYC based duo Opvs & G.Know are the ones responsible for this sexed up version of Post Malone's "Too Young". With an ultra smooth instrumental, they manage to bring out a vibe which perfectly highlights the vocal. The bouncy/wavey future bass sound is dead on-point and creates a flow which makes me which the original had sounded like this to begin with. The inclusion of some more organic sounding elements also brings out a crisp contrast, which helps this remix becoming a must listen on a Sunday afternoon or for an evening chillout session.

Second Chances

Time to tune in on the latest track by Nashville based Super Duper called "Second Chances" feat. Louis Johnson. It's not your average electro banger this time, but rather a smooth indie/electronica pop song that hits you right in the feels with its beautiful vibe and melody. The vocal is also quite something else interesting thanks to some clever producing and the on-point use of reverb. The track shines just as much at its peak, as does it when you just hear the acoustic guitar towards the end. A beautiful track like this for the weekend is just what your soul needs!

His name is William James and he has given Oh Wonder's "Heart Hope" a smooth and chill out friendly overhaul with club appeal. The almost haunting melody adds some mystery to the overall vibe and compliments the vocal brilliantly. There's also a light bounce on the track, which gives it dynamics and a great flow to nod your head to. Attention

Lash are getting attention in the clubs...not any attention, but specifically Charlie Puth's "Attention". Spinning up a tropical/summer friendly pop/club jam on top of Charlie's soulful vocal makes for a catchy earworm that's not going to leave your system for some time. I personally like that the track isn't overpowering or goes full on banger, but instead stays subtle and sets a vibe that could easily make you think you're listening to the original (in the case you don't know the original that is). So if you're in the mood for some easy listening today, then this is definitely for you!

The remix by Lash is out now and available via most major platforms. Check the link below to stream or pick it up. Enjoy!

Little Bit Closer

Frankfurt based producer Kyco is making moves. After releasing official remixes for Ben Phipps and 3LAU, he's now taking the next big step by independently dropping his debut single "Little Bit Closer". With a perfect blend of electronic dance/pop and elements of track trap, he has created a unique and characteristic sound design which makes him stand out from the crowd. Along side an insanely catchy melody, he has teamed up with Edgar Zinn to provide a vocal performance to match.
With a debut single like this, I can't wait to hear what's to come from Kyco in the near future.

Brighten up your weekend with this cracking track and check out the link below for all possible streaming options:

Umbrella

I have a difficult relationship with covers of original songs. Most times I don't find them particularly appealing and it gets worse when the cover manages to ruin the original track for me. This definitely isn't the case though for Ember Island's latest release...a cover of Rihanna's "Umbrella". The vocal and the instrumental perfectly compliment each other and brings along an almost haunting vibe, giving the listener pure chills (but in a good way). The cover doesn't feel over-produced, but it feels clean and pure, making this a solid soundtrack for a Sunday chillout session. Give it a spin and don't forget to grab a free download via the link below:

Extraordinary

Michael Parsberg and Alexander Odden aka Pegboard Nerds have teamed up with Spyker and released a new single called "Extraordinary". Fans of Pegboard Nerds might be surprised about the change in style on this particular track, however personally I really like this blend of radio friendly progressive house and Pegboard Nerds' unique sound design. The energy that hits during the drop is extremely contagious and adds some serious punch to the track. Vocal wise, the trio have teamed up with Elizaveta, who's adds some sweet, put powerful emotional vibes, making this track quite literally extraordinary.

Glory

Young Bombs are back!!! After a little break from releasing new music, the Vancouver based duo returns with an official remix for Bastille's "Glory". By adding a pleasant lead pluck synth for the verses they give the track an unbeatable summer vibe, with an uplifting and positive sounding feel. Compared to the original version, "Glory" now feels lighter and catchier than ever and still adds enough energy on the chorus/drop to make it work in the clubs or at festivals. Give it a spin below or catch the stream via most major platforms. Enjoy!
