Chicago

Windy City based Win & Woo and Bryce Fox put their heads together for this new single appropriately called "Chicago". The track is a cool hybrid between pop and easy listening club music and with it's melancholic vibes, it doesn't take long until the tune settles as a proper earworm. I love that they made an anthem for their hometown and it's probably going to become a fan favourite at their shows, if it isn't already. Bryce Fox is also doing an excellent job on the vocal, adding to the nice flow of the bass driven instrumental.

Some Of Them (Lifelike remix)

Paris based producer and DJ Lifelike takes you back to the 80s with his incredibly dope remix for Amtrac's "Some of Them" feat. MELI. The synths used here remind me a lot of those used in Animotion's "Obsession" and add a tremendous retro vibe. For a 2017 release Lifelike's remix sounds damn oldschool, but that is also what makes it so fresh at the same time. With MELI's vocal on top, it's like stepping into a time machine, coming out the other end wearing pastel coloured clothes and shoulder pads. Listen to this while riding your white Lamborghini Countach LP500, wearing aviator shades.

Sleepyhead

One of the first tracks I ever found on Hype Machine was "Sleepyhead" by Passion Pit and that also marked a point in time where my own music taste shifted drastically. Now Two Friends are picking up this piece of personal nostalgia, remixing "Sleepyhead" and adding their own style to it. As I've said before, I am usually incredibly critical towards remixes or covers of what I consider a "classic", but the L.A based duo has done it again, giving me the chance to relive my high school days in the summer of 2017. Can't think of a better way to kick off the weekend :)

Candyland

I've been posting some really smooth stuff recently, but it's Friday and time to stir things up a little!

Karma Kid x Fono recently revealed the second track called "Candyland" from their joint EP. Just as hard hitting as their first single "Allison", this new track is sure to act as a firestarter at lots of festivals this summer. The combined playfulness and energetic vibe on "Candyland" is absolutely mind blowing. In addition, an oldschool horn sample provides some on point contrast and charm to the hard hitting kick drum and modulation sounds, which helps balancing things out.

I'm thoroughly excited about this release as it really brings something new and fresh, but it's not your average piece of easy listening...just so you're warned.

Danger Love

New music from U.S. based producer Ken Loi, who recently released this piece called "Danger Love" feat. Dezi. The track stands out to me with its somewhat unusual sounding lead bass line, giving the instrumental a rather rough, but also catchy sound. Ken also has an amazing skill finding some very talented vocalists and with Dezi he has found the perfect match for "Danger Love".

Out now on Thrive Music, you can listen to Ken Loi's new single via most major platforms. Enjoy!

Gold Angel

It's not often bands decide to do remixes, so that kind of makes this particular track a rare breed. NYC based Savoir Adore have taken on Minke's "Gold Angel" and transformed it into an indie pop marble to a track. The added atmospheric elements and fresh bass line really brings a fresh breath of air around the original vocal. Savoir Adore's additions feel subtle, but when you add them up it really makes everything different...in a brilliant way. Give it a spin below or catch the stream over on Spotify.

Waste?

I've been digging some smoother sounding music for the last few days and so I came across this exceptional single by L.A. based Michl called "Waste?". The soulful hip hop vibe on this immediately reminded me of Tom Misch's style, excl. the guitar. Everything about this track sounds harmoniously, from the melody to the sound design and perhaps most importantly...the vocal. As a listener...once you hit that play button...you're in the zone for a proper chillout session.

Simple

Smooth disco/rnb vibes coming from Chris McClenney with his remix for Joe Hertz's track "Simple" feat Jones. I really like the bounce that has been added, turning "Simple" into a very uplifting and positive sounding track. The vocal has also been worked in a way, giving it a refreshing lightness which matches the smoothness of the instrumental. Overall, a crisp piece of music, ideal for a relaxing Sunday afternoon easy listening session!

Better Places

Pierce Fulton makes sure to kick off the weekend right by releasing the title track "Better Places" feat. NVDES from his forthcoming album. This new track is probably the most radio friendly he has released to date, focusing on his characteristic indie sound and a pop inspired upbeat, positive and playful vibe. The addition of kazoo sounding horns add to that sensation, making this track a proper earworm.

Pierce Fulton's debut album is set to be released on June 23rd, but "Better Places" is already out now, so give it a spin below or via your favourite music streaming platform.

Difficult to Love

After releasing two EPs in rapid succession, Amtrac is back with a remix for Elderbrook's "Difficult To Love". With his characteristic sound design, the Kentucky based producer takes the best of the original and converts it into deep house pleasure...even more so than the original. The new beat adds an upbeat tempo to the track, giving it energy and club appeal. I also really like what the work on the vocal, making it sound dreamier and more atmospheric. Lines Of The Broken

Fellow countrymen DROELOE and San Holo have joined forces and created an amazing new single called "Lines Of The Broken" feat. CUT_. Usually one or the others music style or sound design can go under in a collab like this, but I personally think that they've found a very nice equal playing ground and created something magical. I particularly pick that up when hearing DROELOE's characteristic mystical vibe, alongside San Holo's ability to create catchy melodies. CUT_ also does an excellent job wrapping her vocal around this, adding a certain fragile element to the track as well.

Love Somebody

Justin Caruso has just released his finest original single ever called "Love Somebody" feat. Chris Lee. Genre wise this release is more towards the pop genre, putting emphasise on the melody and the emotional vibe. What makes this track extra special though is that it's being released on 3LAU charity label Blume. The goal of the charity is to raise $30.000 for ACLU, who protect individuals rights under the American constitution and laws of the United States.

So don't just listen to the track because it is awesome...make sure you listen to it an extra time for the good cause too. It's actually not that difficult to do, because "Love Somebody" is a proper earworm anyway :)

Waves

Texas based duo Bronze Whale have remixed Luna Shadows' "Waves" and it's a must listen!

Taking the haunting and atmospheric vocal and giving it a dark and mysterious sounding backdrop really does something to the emotions of the track. Once the the vocal chopped parts of the drop takes over, the track reaches a whole other level, boosting the before mentioned sensation even more. Considering that this track is already awesome to in its original version, then it's even more impressive when someone is able to remix it out of the ball park.

Only

Being a big fan of RY X's track "Only", my expectations were set at max when coming across this cover version by U.S. based Patrick Baker. That said, shortly after hitting the play button I sat with my headphones on and my my jaw dropping in awe. With some incredible emotion, a smooth reverb on the vocal and a simple beat and guitar melody this cover fulfils the "less-is-more" paradigm to the fullest. If you were looking for a Friday banger you're in the wrong place today, but if you're here for pure bliss...then go ahead and hit that play button! Where R U

I'm a sucker for a solid bass line and so when I came across Kill Paris' new single "Where R U", I was left in no doubt...it's superb! The vibe on this new track is incredibly smooth, while perfectly balancing energy and more atmospheric elements. Being mostly an instrumental track it takes quite a from a producer to create something that is pleasing and can sustain interest for the listener throughout the duration of the track. The track carries elements from genres like hip hop, electronica and combined with a crisp melody and a tight vocal, what we have here is a winner. Let's start out this new week with something different and loud! Ape Drums new single "Deva" feat. By "this" he is referring to his new single called "Sway" and it's a melodic marvel of a track. Those of you who are familiar with Nevve's vocal know that it's bound to be good in the vocal department too. Overall the track is a nice piece of easy listening and a great comeback by Syn Cole. NYC based duo Shades have had the pleasure of remixing Mako & Rat City's collab "Run For Your Life" feat. Natalola and the end result needs to be in your weekend playlist. Adding a light trap vibe during the verses and slowing things down, really helps the vocal performance by Natalola to shine. Home In August

After releasing the beautiful indie inspired track "Life In Letters", U.S. artist Pierce Fulton returns with an awesome progressive dance tune. As a listener, "Home In August" feels like a bit of a flashback to the time when I first discovered Pierce's music. The vocal sample and sound design also brings back memories from his big hit Kuaga, which is super cool.

It's been a while since Pierce has released something as upbeat as this, so as a fan I am more than delighted to finally get a track like this to blast out loud. The melody is energy filled, but Pierce always manages to create a balance, making this new single nice for easy listening too.

Regardless of what you call it though, main thing is that it sounds absolutely amazing. Empty Room

To kick off the summer, Win and Woo have released a suitable new remix for Big Wild's "Empty Room" feat. Yuna. The Chicago based duo have added a festival worthy amount of energy to the track, powering things with a dope, wobbly bass line. The vocal is also magnificently chopped to pieces for added excitement, but still gets enough room during the verses to really shine. Sound wise, the style feels like a departure from the duo's regular, but that also makes it nice and refreshing. As this is an official remix, the track is available now via most major platforms. Give Into Love

L.A. based producer Birdee has released a new EP 3-track EP called "Give Into Love". I'll be focusing on the title track, but the entire work is full of discolicious vibes.

"Give Into Love" is a groovy piece of nu-disco featuring a beautiful vocal performance by Chloe Amber. It's not because the track has the most experimental sound design or is groundbreaking by any means, but it's a catchy and crisp dance tune that brings a little retro feel into your ear canal. The main version of "Give Into Love" is delightfully +8 minutes long, so no complaining the track is too short.

"In The Night" (U Don't Know) is a new single by Canadian producer Pat Lok and if you're looking for an energetic beat, then this is for you.

It's safe to say that Pat Lok went all party mode with this release, as it might be one of the most upbeat tracks he has released to date. Some Of Them

Amtrac is not one to rest on his laurels and keeps pushing out some amazing music. A few weeks ago he dropped the first single called "Accessorize" off his new EP "True Value" and it has already become one of my all time Amtrac favourites. Now he is dropping the second single called "Some Of Them" with the rest of the EP, which features Meli on vocal. The bassline is the key driver of the instrumental, but what makes the track extra interesting is the layering of Meli's characteristic and outstanding vocal. It really makes for something extremely special that I can't compare to anything I have ever listened to.

I'm in the mood for some proper deep house vibes and came across this absurdly dope remix by Kaskade for CID's "Secrets" feat. Conrad Sewell. The blend of that thick bass, beat and Conrad Sewell's soulful vocal gives this remix a buttery smooth vibe that has made this track become an instant earworm for me. Fans of Kaskade will categorise this release as a redux mix, bringing back memories to his earlier work. As a fellow fan, I am happy to see that he continues to pursue this sound.

While the verses have a more SNBRN'esque sound, the drop contains an unmistaken heftiness that can only be Coyote Kisses work. Since the producers have found a middle ground with this release, the end result is something fresh and different and should be fun for both fan bases to check out.

Sex On Me

Although I am surprised to see this track being released on Armada Deep, given its pop tendencies, I can't help to nod along to the vibe on this new single by Chicago based Goldhouse called "Sex On Me". The blend of pop and deep house makes the track quite excellent for easy listening though and would also be great as part of a DJ set in a club. The soulful vocal perfectly matches the feeling of the track and although the chorus/drop goes into a vocal chop, it's still so catchy that I don't even mind it being there.

Hollow

Ken Loi is back with a brand new single called "Hollow" feat. Liv Miraldi and it's straight up one of my favourite releases ever by the westcoast based producer. This is not only due to Liv's impeccable vocal, but also the emotional melody and atmospheric sound design. The energy on the track is quite subtle for a house track, but the drop still adds some contrast which perfectly wraps around those haunting verses.

Personally, I can't get enough of this track! So if you're like me you can stream this from here on out on most major platforms. "Hollow" is out via Arkade (Kaskade's label) and it will of course be included in the official MYWLT playlist as well. Enjoy!

The vibe on "The Call" draws heavy cues from the French house genre (read Daft Punk) and sparkles in particular through it's amazing bass line and the vocal performance. I Miss You

U.S. duo Grey have had their single "I Miss You" feat. Bahari remixed by Lophiile and it's dang refreshing.

I think it's safe to say that this version is quite a bit sexier sounding than the original. The soft synth chords give plenty of room for the vocal to shine during the verses, while the chorus/drop builds interest thanks some clever "reverse" sounding vocal chop. While I can't say that I prefer this version over the original, Lophiile certainly manages to set a completely different mood... and what is better than having one cool version of a track you like? Yes, you guessed it! It's having two! :)

Love Song (Redux)

Kaskade has dropped a new remix for his collab release with Late Night Alumni called "Love Song". Going as a so-called "redux mix", the style of this version takes the listener towards Kaskade's classic house music roots. The overall vibe of the track hasn't changed a whole lot compared to the original mix, but it's just that much more hypnotic sounding, which perfectly contrasts Becky Jean Williams haunting vocals. While the bass line is absolutely on point, what I enjoy the most about this mix are the added atmospheric elements...something you might not pick up unless you check out the original mix first (check it out HERE).

Pierce Fulton has been keeping it quiet for some time, but he is finally back with a brand new single called "Life In Letters". So far, Pierce has shifted between indie and dance music in his releases and it seems he will continue to do so in future as well. While "Life In Letters" is a pretty upbeat track, it's definitely towards the indie side of his spectrum, That being said, he somehow manages to hit a sweet spot with this one, bringing in familiar sounds from his previous releases too. The upbeat nature of the track also doesn't make you want to drool away in boredom, but instead feels motivating, dynamic and alive. This makes "Life In Letters" one of my favourite tracks by Pierce Fulton to date!

Say Less

Moombah-hero Dillon Francis is out with a brand new single called "Say Less" feat. G-Eazy and wow...it's good! It's been a while since I have been so hyped about a Dillon Francis release and it's difficult to explain why that is. I guess it is partly due to the implementation of Dillon's unique humour, sound design and G-Eazy's on point vocal performance, which is just has hard hitting as Dillon's horns.

"Say Less" is out now and if you have a hard time keeping up with the lyrics, check out the lyric video below. Enjoy!

Heaven of Her

Frankfurt based producer and DJ Kyco is back, this time with what he calls his most emotional sounding mashup ever - titled "Heaven Of Her". Ever wondered what happens when you blend Martin Garrix, Zara Larson, Bebe Rexha, DJ Sammy and Vincent? This mashups will answer your question and...spoiler alert...it's awesome! Kyco isn't exaggerating the emotional aspect of the mashup, however the track still packs a proper club vibe, using the drop from Vincent's "Her".

Alongside the mashup, Kyco has released a music video which beautifully visualises the emotional aspect of the song.

"Heaven of Her" is out now, available as a free download and you can check out the video right here below:

You Belong

The German with a French sounding name, Jetique, is back with a brand new remix, this time for The Avener's "You Belong" feat. Laura Gibson. While keeping the spirit of the original track, Jetique turns up the deep house vibes for this version and the result speaks for it self. With a thumbing bass line and an overhauled club-friendly beat, this remix can light up a party with ease. The Munich based producer is giving his remix away as a free download, so feel free to pick up your own personal copy via the link below.

Give It To You

A little portion of pre-Friday feel good vibes never hurt anyone, so let's check out this dope release by Niko The Kid & Bee's Knees feat. CADE called "Give It To You". Having said it's a feel good tune, it implies that this piece is easy on the ears. The blend of house and pop is very balanced and thanks to a punchy bass line, the track also gets a hint of deep house too, which adds some nice energy. The vocal performance by CADE is crisp and works as the icing on the cake.

"Give It To You" is out now via Armada Trice and you can pick it up/stream via most major platforms. Enjoy!
