5 Day Mischon

Special agent Tom Misch has been on a secret 5 day Mischon, cooking up some amazing new tracks. All the bad puns aside, Tom Misch didn't do this in secret. If you've been following his socials you might have seen pictures of him being locked up in his studio for an entire week, producing, experimenting and challenging his creativity. Every day a new collaborator has joined him and so 5 beautiful and diverse releases have seen the light of day. Considering the time pressure, the end result is utterly impressive. It isn't the first time though Tom Misch has done something like this. Some of you might remember The Tom Misch Experiment? If not, check it out here. Later there will be a documentary for 5 Day Mischon, but until then you can check out the teaser below.

So far, my personal favourite is the track from day 2 called "Feeling" feat. Novelist. That being said, the collection of tracks is still so new to me, it will take a few days to fully digest the genius behind the individual tracks. My utmost respect for taking up the challenge and delivering something so flawless...a pure sign of talent...end of story!

Enjoy the five pieces below or check them out via your favourite streaming service.

Like You

If you're in the mood for some soothing vibes, then this new release by Noosa is for you. With a smooth indie/electronica sound design and an atmospheric and slightly haunting vocal performance, Noosa manages to calm me right down with this release. The instrumental provides the perfect backdrop and once it picks up pace it also gains a little bit of club appeal. Part of the track was also produced by Pierce Fulton, which also explains this influence.

"Like You" is out now and you can give it a spin right here or via Spotify (see link below).

No Future

Toronto based producer and DJ Shaun Frank has released a new single this week called "No Future" featuring Dyson on vocal. Unlike some of his earlier releases "No Future" is surprisingly laid back, with a distinct pop influence. This also makes this one of his more radio friendly tracks to date. The vibe is a little reminiscent of The Chainsmokers and Steve James, which might give you a slight indication of what you're in for.

"No Future" is out now on Ultra Records (his first own release on the label) and available via most major platforms (see link below).

Get What You Give

Who doesn't remember the classic pop track from New Radicals "You Get What You Give"? Now U.S. based producer Felix Cartal has decided to cover this awesome track, bringing a bit of oldschool to the dance floor. Don't worry though...Felix Cartal hasn't messed anything up by making this cover. It's still as classy as ever, but now it's brought back into the 21st century.

So if you feel a little nostalgic, or just want to listen to a dope piece of music, you can do so right here below. Felix Cartal's version of "You Get What You Give" is out now via most major platforms. Enjoy!

The Road

Berlin based, Texas born Sean Bradford is responsible for this excellent release called "The Road (Back To Love)". From second one the track manages to create attraction with it's amazing synth line and a soulful pop vocal. Genre wise I'd say we are moving towards the territory of another Sean...namely Sean Turk, who brought the term "bedroom bass" into life. It's definitely a versatile track, making it great for easy listening, but also for the clubs. Considering Sean Bradford's existing track record, I am confident we will be hearing much more to him throughout 2017, so stay tuned!

Renegade

Getting off to a good start, L.A. based producer Rinzen releases his debut single "Renegade" on Mau5trap. His sound can be characterised as cinematic techno, which on this single translates into a hypnotising, bass driven and deep sounding vibe. Compared to what I usually post, it's quite a dark track, but it manages to keep my interest thanks to its fresh techno sound design. "Renegade" is out now and available via the link below. Enjoy!

Circles

U.S. based Kiso and Loé have joined forces, creating this sweet piece of chill out house/pop called "Circles". Thanks to a light guitar based melody and a catchy vocal chop driven chorus, this new single is incredibly radio friendly at its core. While it's not a huge club track, it brings along positive sounding vibes and who doesn't like those...especially now that it's Friday and we're heading into the weekend.

Give "Circles" a spin right here and make sure to grab a copy of the song too, as it's available as a free download.

Love Is All Around You

Nothing calms me down like a proper piece of hip hop beatstrumental. This track called "Love Is All Around You" comes from Paris based duo The Geek x Vrv's new work "BTOS Vol. 4" (Back To The Old School), paying tribute to the fine art of hip hop beat making. As you'll hear, the track doesn't mess about...it's clean, fresh and sampled...no strings attached...or actually there's a lot of string...but that's what makes it so dang awesome too :)

BTOS Vol. features a total of 15 track and is out now via Embrace Records. You can listen to "Love Is All Around You" right here and catch everything else via the link below. Enjoy :)

You Got Me

SNBRN and the duo BLU J have joined forces for a single called "You Got Me" feat. Cara Frew. With perfect timing for MMW, this new tune is sure to make the crowds go wild. The track has a perfect energy balance, but it shines the most during the drop, where a room filling bass line takes over, creating some proper thick air. Horns make sure to add a grand sound too, but thankfully Cara Frew's vocal adds some much needed lightness as well.

Give "You Got Me" a spin below or listen on Spotify. Enjoy!

Love FM

NYC based producer Pat Lok goes back to his house roots with his latest release called "Love FM". With a cracking beat and some clever vocal chopping, he has created a positive and upbeat sounding party anthem. I love the oldschool sounding sampling approach, which gives the track a subtle gating effect to accentuate the beat.

So if you're kinda low on energy and need a bit of a boost, let "Love FM" pick you up! Hit the play button and don't forget to pick up a free download via the link below:

Silvertown

For a long time now, Mr. Carmack has been a name that I've enjoyed following. I'll admit, I haven't posted much of his work, but it's time to change that. Here's his amazing remix for JNTHN STEIN's "Silvertown".

Maybe "Silvertown" isn't a track I had anticipated being remixed by Mr. Carmack, but I am pleasantly surprised by the outcome and the classy sounding vibe it has. Hopefully you'll be just as hyped about this track as I am...I for one can't stop listening to it.

Surreal

With a dreamy hip-hop sound stage, Louis Futon's new single "Surreal" feat. RKCB is today's piece of music you wanna listen to. Bringing on RKCB is also a real treat to the ears, adding some lush soul filled vibes to the track. Louis' ability to create a beautiful beatstrumental has never failed and with "Surreal" I think he has found the right balance, by creating a lean sounding arrangement that gives perfect room for the vocal.

"Surreal" is out now and is available as a free download. You can also stream it via Spotify if that is your thing (see link below).

Drifting Away

JackLNDN has recently released this dope remix for Felix Cartal's "Drifting Away" feat. Ofelia K. Drifting away from the originals pop inspired approach, into a more deep house friendly world has worked out like charm for Jack. Thanks to a magnificent bass line and some soothing synth chords, the track gets new life and sounds all fresh again. Although I like the original version a lot, I really like how this new version slows Ofelia's vocal down a little bit, making it heavier, but also fuller sounding overall. Which version do you prefer?

JackLNDN's remix is out now and available via most major music platforms.

The Heart of Me

My favourite Dutch duo, The Him, are back with a brand new remix for Miike Snow's "The Heart Of Me" and it's awesome! Adding their characteristic club vibe to this indie track works in a way that makes you wonder whether it wasn't supposed to sound like this to begin with. I love the original version by Miike Snow, but thanks to The Him, "The Heart Of Me" has just become ideal for the clubs too.

The remix is out now and available for streaming right here or via Spotify (see link below). Enjoy!

Everything Black

Another LA based producer who has been busy is Unlike Pluto. He has recently released a new single called "Everything Black" feat. Mike Taylor and it's one of his best to date. The sound design and melody is catchy and stands out and on top of that comes that on point vocal performance, which lifts everything to a completely different level. Unlike Pluto and Mike Taylor supposedly came up with the idea for the track when they met up, both arriving in their black cars, wearing all black. I guess it shows that you can find inspiration for a song in the most random of situations...but hey....if it works :)

I Got You

"I Got You"....covered! With this cool new remix by LA based SNBRN for Bebe Rexha. Yet again, SNBRN manages to add his characteristic feel good house vibes to an existing hit, making "I Got You" feel all fresh and new again. If you're familiar with the original mix, you'll notice that the main theme has been kept intact, its just that much more awesome now...oh and more clubby of course :)

SNBRN's remix is out now, so feel free to stream it right here or via Spotify (see link below). On Spotify you can also check out the other three official remixes for "I Got You" by Party Pupils, White Panda and Cheat Codes.

Let Me Go

Denver based Kris Barman aka. Wuki has a new single out called "Let Me Go" featuring PRXZM and yup...it wouldn't be on this blog if it didn't sound amazing!

"Let Me Go" stands out with its incredible vocal performance and characteristic sound design, which picks up cues from old video game soundtracks and a combo of house and indie. This results in an interesting and captivating listening experience and shines a light on a different side of Wuki, which we will hopefully hear more of throughout 2017.

Love Like We Used To

Canadian power duo Young Bombs are back with their first release of 2017. This one is a remix for Captain Cuts' "Love Like We Used To". While still club friendly, this remix takes on on a more pop inspired approach and by doing so it becomes insanely catchy. You can also pick up a hint of tropical house, but it's so subtle, it just brings a little holiday friendly vibes into the mix...and who doesn't like that? :) Hit the play button below and enjoy!

Loverboy

There's a new name you should pay attention to. Hailing from Copenhagen (yo, hometown!), the guy above going by the name of Mattis, has released his debut single called "Loverboy". With a characteristic vocal sound and a neo-soul/indie/dance instrumental vibe, his debut single certainly manages to stand out. Once the chorus hits you won't struggle to groove along to this track and if you're like me, you'll have yourself a new earworm. Get Closer

Already hanging at +200K plays on Soundcloud, there's no denying that Joe Mason's remix for XYLØ's "Get Closer" is already a huge success. Maybe you've had a chance to check it out already, maybe you haven't and it that case...today's is your lucky day. Keeping it 100% with a subtle dance vibe, mixed with elements from the indie genre, gives this particular remix a very likeable profile. Particularly the piano chords during the chorus adds a nice depth to the track, while still providing melodic lightness. This might be Joe Mason's strongest remix to date...so enjoy this dope tune and make sure to grab a free download via the link below:

Just Hold On

You better believe it! Two Friends are back and this time, it's with an official remix for Steve Aoki & Louis Tomlinson's "Just Hold On". The L.A. based duo has taken full ownership of this track, adding their own sound and energy to it. While the vibe might be slightly more pop oriented, it still packs a proper punch and lots of positive vibes, making it ideal for the weekend. Releasing alongside versions by DVBBS, Attom and Bad Royale, the remix pack offers something for everyone.

Gone

U.S. producer Kap Slap returns with a fire starter for the weekend, with this brand new single called "Gone" feat. Ezi. While Kap Slap is most known for his amazing mashups and remixes, his new original shows that he has been able to further develop his own sound and progress as an artist. The vibe on this track is a nice mix between pop and dance, making it very versatile and perfect for both clubs and radio.

"Gone" is in my opinion Kap Slap's best release to date and it makes me hope that we will be hearing more from him in 2017. The single is out now via Blume (3LAUs charity label), which means that profits will be donated to ACLU.

Do Wrong

Not looking very "lustig" (fun in German) on the picture, producer Alex Lustig releases the single "Do Wrong" feat. Ayelle. With a trippy, yet atmospheric sound stage, the producer delivers a dreamy instrumental, with haunting vocals. It's hard to describe the vibe I am picking up from this in words, but somehow the instrumental has a hypnotic, yet soothing effect on me, which I really enjoy. Maybe you feel it too? Give it a spin below:

Shape Of You

L.A. based Elephante returns with a remix for Ed Sheeran's club friendly single "Shape Of You". In a somewhat surprising move, Elephante takes on a rockier approach, but it blends in perfectly with the pop/dance notes of the original mix and the vocal. "Shape Of You" will never be my favourite Ed Sheeran release, but I really like the direction on this particular remix and how it sounds more full bodied in a way.

Give Elephante's remix a spin below and if you're based in North America, check his tour dates right HERE.

Something Just Like This

Alex & Drew keep pushing and their latest single couldn't have been a bigger surprise. Teaming up with none other than Coldplay is something I didn't see coming, but it makes sense. Looking back, Coldplay seems to be fans of the electronic music wave, which we've seen before when they had Avicii produce parts of "A Sky Full Of Stars", the bands first dance release.

While "Something Just Like This" is also a dance friendly track, it's better at including Coldplay's iconic sound, with that of The Chainsmokers. That in part is due to the clear cut separation of sounds, which exists between the verse and the chorus. The downside of that though is that "Something Just Like This" sounds a little bit like a remix in my opinion. On the plus side though, the separation also doesn't mess up the two bands sound designs and finds a nice middle ground, hopefully making both fan bases happy.

The single will be part of the duo's debut album "Memories...Do Not Open", which is estimated to be released on April 7th.

You have probably heard it already, but in case you live under a rock...here it is:

When a new track of this calibre gets released the inevitable happens and other producers start remixing or covering the track. One who pulled it off though, is German producer Koni. Not only did he make his own instrumental from scratch, but he also teamed up with vocalist Marina Lin, which gives this remix a much lighter vibe. This makes this particular cover/remix ideal as an early summer house track and one you should save for the beach season. Fortunately you can do just that, as Koni's cover/remix is available as a free download (see link below):

Talk About Me

Some of my favourite remixes have come from Justin Caruso and now that he is back with his debut single, marking an important new step in his career. The title is called "Talk About Me" and features Victoria Zaro on vocal. From a production perspective the single is absolutely tight, combining elements of pop and dance music in a perfect balance. This makes it a versatile track, ideal for the airwaves and the clubs. With nearly 500K plays on Soundcloud in just a week, there's no doubt that Justin Caruso's debut single is already a huge success.

Save Your Love

Copenhagen represent! Danish/Italian artist Mikala has release her debut single called "Save Your Love", blending old-shool hip hop vibes, with a fresh soul and pop filled temperament. Her outstanding vocal perfectly stands up to the solid sub-bass that the track has to offer and shines with its crisp and fresh all-round friendly sound design. It's a strong first release, showing a promising start to Mikala's career. Give "Save Your Love" a spin below or grab a copy via Itunes (see link below).

Savage

I have always liked NYC based producer Dave Edwards' ability to create some great and often timeless sounding melodies on his remixes and now that he is back with a new one, it's time to check it out. This time he has taken on the track "Savage" by Whethan feat. Flux Pavilion & MAX, which conveniently was made available through a remix competition. As expected, Dave Edwards does not disappoint and hammers down a powerful dance track, which perfectly compliments the original vocal performance by MAX. The original bass driven vibe is gone and replaced with a more light and pop inspired sound profile, perfectly matching the style of the NYC based producer.

Pretty Girl

Taylor Wise is back with a contagious piece of melodic house music, this time in the form of a remix for Maggie Lindemann's "Pretty Girl".
